Tips to stick to a challenge

Tips to stick to a challenge

It can take up to 30 days to change your behaviour and form a habit – so to increase your chances of smashing the initial 30 days to start living a better life, we’ve got a list of things which will help make the transition a whole lot easier!

A lot of these may seem like common sense but you’d be surprised just how effective they can be. Trust us, we’ve seen them in action – increasing your motivation, and keeping you on track. These are just a few ways to help set yourself up for success:

Train with a friend

Having someone else there to hold you accountable is one of the most powerful motivators you can have. Plus, we all know we can push ourselves harder when there’s a little healthy competition.

Make your gym workout the same time every day, and set it in your diary/schedule

It’s much easier to get yourself into a routine if you make it just that: a routine. Setting it in your schedule for the same time every day means you know when it is time to get off your seat and start moving.

Try to exercise in the morning

If you plan your exercise for the morning, you’ll get it done right off the bat and have the added benefit of the endorphin high coming into your day.

Change your diet

Not drastically but removing a few treats here and there can make a big difference. There is nothing more discouraging than when you can’t see any results. Results take time so be patient, and if you’re still polishing off a couple of glasses of wine every night after work, you’re not going to get the results you deserve.

When you eat good, you feel good.

At Jetts Australia we pride ourselves on keeping things real and our approach to diet and meal prepping is the same. Food is such an important part of everyday life, but why do we sometimes see it as the enemy? Don’t get caught up on numbers!

Too many people worship the scales and weigh themselves constantly then get disheartened when they don’t see the numbers drop. Patience is key here. If you’re feeling better, getting stronger or running further, you’re well on track. Just keep up the good work! Numbers can be misleading as your body composition will be changing so you might even get a little heavier to start due to increasing muscle mass so don’t let it fool you. Slow, controlled weight loss of around 500 grams a week has been proven to be the most sustainable weight loss method so please don’t go starving yourself!
